Chromebook Quick Start Guide

Getting Started 

1) Startup your Chromebook - Your Chromebook starts up in about 8 seconds. To turn it on, simply open the lid and press the power button. You may not need to press the power button as some chromebooks start up automatically when you open up the laptop. You will notice a blue light indicator on the side when the Chromebook turns on.

2) Select the Wi-Fi network you are near from the network menu and set up.

3) Sign in with your EOI Google Account - In the sign-in box, enter your EOI email address (username) and password and click Sign in. Then, follow on screen terms and agreement instructions. If you don’t know what your EOI Email Account logins are Contact EOI Support by email at support@eoiservice.com or call.

4) Start browsing - Once you sign in, you’re instantly on the Web and automatically signed in to the Google services you use, with access to your Chrome bookmarks, settings, apps, and extensions. To get started, type a website or a search query. 

5) Get to know your Chromebook - For more information on how to master the Chromebook essentials, visit the online Getting Started guide. Just type in the following URL and click a topic to see more information: google.com/chromebook/knowyourchromebook 

6) Log out - When you’re ready to shut down, hold down the power key for a few seconds to log out. 

Things to Try 

1) Use the Web, don’t worry about software. Every Chromebook runs thousands of Web apps. 2) Get work done, anywhere - Create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and even drawings using available apps. 

4) Stay in touch - With a built-in webcam and microphone, place a call, have a video chat, or host a Google Meet without any need for downloads or drivers. You can also use instant messengers like Google Hangouts to chat with co-workers

Change Screen Resolution

Go to Settings and choose Display Settings. Or, you can directly open chrome://settings/display on your Omnibox.

Now on the Display Settings menu, choose your screen resolution or screen orientation.

How To Add a New Bluetooth Device To Your Chromebook

To add a new Bluetooth device to your Chromebook:

  1. Click on the bottom right corner of the screen where your profile picture and time is.
  2. Choose Add device.
  3. Select the device you wish to add from the list of available Bluetooth devices and click Connect.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.

To connect to a device that is already added, click the device from the Add Bluetooth device popup menu and click Connect.
