Chromebook Start Up Guide: Sheridan Health Kiosk

  • Chromebook Startup and Sign in

To turn on your Chromebook, simply open the lid and press the power button, located on the right side of the Chromebook located furthest back. You may not need to press the power button as some Chromebooks start up automatically when you open up the laptop. You will notice a blue light indicator on the side when the Chromebook turns on.

Once started up you will need to  sign into the account that populates on the screen. You will need to type in the account and use the password provided to sign in. Once signed in the Chromebook will take about 10 seconds to fully start up. Once the Chromebook has started up you can begin working.

Google Meets

  • To open up Google Meets click the Google Meets app icon once located at the bottom of the screen (Meets Camera Logo inside a white circle).

  • This will open the Google Meets window where you will enter the meeting code. If you see a message stating "meet.google.com wants to use your camera/microphone", select Allow
  • Once in your meeting, you will want to make sure there are no error notifications or issues displaying on the control icons in the lower center of the screen.
  • To end a meeting simply hit the red "Leave Call" icon and then select "Return to home screen". Or simply hit the 'x' at the top right of the window to close the window.

Chromebook Audio Settings 

  • To access the Chromebook settings, click on the time located at the bottom right corner of the screen. 
  • Next to the Audio volume bar click on the arrow pointing right ">".
  • After clicking on the arrow ">" you can see what audio inputs and outputs are selected and active.
    The selected input and outputs will have a blue check mark to the right of the Input/Output description.

Shutting Down

  • To shut down your Chromebook press and hold the power button on the right side, then select Shut down in the pop-up menu.
